The Confident Wealth Roadmap.

Greater clarity. More confidence.

I. An Introduction

A quiet, considered practice for meaningful wealth.

For women whose lives are richer and more complicated because of their wealth, and who are seeking a trusted, independent thinking partner.

The Wealth Confidante is a private advisory practice built to help women become more confident and empowered to take full ownership of their wealth. The work sits at the intersection of rigorous investment thinking and the human questions that surround wealth: what it is for, whom it serves, and how it should be held over a lifetime.

II. Outcomes

What you carry forward.

Six outcomes at the end of the process that provide clarity and confidence around your wealth.

  • i

A clear picture of what you have.

An integrated view of your financial life, and the questions each part quietly raises.

  • ii

A framework for the decisions ahead.

Principles you can return to when the noise, the family, or the advisor grows loud.

  • iii

The right people, in the right seats.

A considered view on your advisors, structures, and partners, and their alignment with you.

  • iv

    Language for what you want.

The vocabulary to ask better questions of your team, your family, and yourself.

  • v

A wealth life that reflects you.

Choices about giving, investing, and living that feel like an expression of your values.

  • vi

    A quieter mind.

Less private worry. Fewer open loops. A steadier sense that the important things are tended to.

IV. Who this is for

For thoughtful women becoming more confident stewards.

This is for thoughtful women who want to become more confident about their wealth and the complications wealth brings. Even when she does not fully understand a particular investment, she can feel confident about how she is stewarding her capital, or at least a little more so than before.

V. What this is

A structured process and a personal guide.

A roadmap is a product that acts as your personal guide. The engagement is a structured process to take inventory of what you have, the meaning it holds, and what you want to create with it.

With a wealth advisor, you typically have an investment policy statement, which is like the directions on a map. This roadmap sits a step above it: it helps you decide the destination you want to head toward, which requires a different kind of inquiry than most financial advisors are set up to have.

This is not investment management, legal advice, tax advice, or therapy.

VI. About Min

A career of rigor. A practice built for real life.

Min Kim graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University and spent her first six years in emerging market infrastructure finance and high yield debt. She then attended Columbia Business School, known as a home of value investing, where she was one of thirty six students selected into small tutorial classes with some of the most respected value investors in the world.

She joined Generation Investment Management, founded by former Goldman Sachs partners and Al Gore to prove the case for long term sustainable investing. Now an approximately $50 billion institutional investment manager, Generation manages capital for some of the largest institutions in the world and some of the wealthiest families and family offices. Min became a partner in three years, and was the first analyst promoted to portfolio manager in the firm's history.

The Wealth Confidante was born from a question she was asking of her own life. After divorce, stewarding her own wealth on her own, she was surprised by how difficult the decisions became, and by how quietly valuable a trusted, rigorous sounding board could be.
